Almamet Group 1994 - 1996
1994 – ALMAMET's activities expand to Eastern Europe and the CIS. The company succeeds in signing an agreement with a Russian steelplant for the delivery of a hot metal desulfurization plant. 1995 – an agreement is signed with a Slovenian calcium carbide producer that enables ALMAMET to offer industrial calcium carbide and blends containing calcium carbide for hot metal desulfurization.

Today our customers are supplied with calcium carbide from Slovakia. Ing. Eugen Wieser retires but remains in close contact with ALMAMET as a friend and consultant until his death in February 2003. His shares are taken over by the Swiss Minmet Group, which has held a participation in ALMAMET since that time. A joint venture is established with SMW, the leading producer of primary magnesium in the CIS, to set up a production plant for magnesium granules in Solikamsk (Russian Federation).
